Ocular’s Executive Leadership Team
Phil Spivey, President and Chief Executive Officer
Phil Spivey joined Ocular as President and Chief Executive Officer in March of 2009. Prior to joining the Ocular team he was most recently part of the executive team that successfully positioned the Motorola Embedded Communications Computing Group for sale to Emerson Network Power. He brings over 25 years of experience in the global technology industry, including prior executive roles at Motorola directing product and services based business units as well as leading global manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, sales and marketing functions. Prior to Motorola, Phil held management roles in the electronics distribution and software industries.
Larry Mozdzyn, Chief Technology Officer
Larry Mozdzyn is one of the original founders and currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer for Ocular. For over 24 years, Larry has assisted in running Ocular, has expanded product offerings and also has been awarded multiple patents. Larry is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and is a member of the Society for Information Display.
John Du, Chief Financial Officer
John Du joined Ocular in 2006 and serves as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Ocular, John was Director of Finance and Business Administration for Siemens Subscriber Networks, where he provided the blueprint and execution in turning around the consumer broadband business unit and in setting up a multi-country Global Center of Competency for Broadband Products. John also held progressive positions in the area of finance and accounting with Efficient Networks, CompuCom Systems and Mary Kay Cosmetics. John has a master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington, a master’s degree in Film Studies from the University of Iowa and a bachelor’s degree in English from Beijing Foreign Studies University, China.
Paul Massey, Senior Vice President of Marketing
Paul Massey brings 26 years of global marketing and business development experience in the technology industry to the Ocular team. Prior to joining Ocular, Paul held various senior management positions with Motorola and Emerson Network Power where he launched several successful global businesses serving the telecommunications, enterprise computing and embedded markets, including the development of a custom product business unit and a professional services practice.
Jim Spisak, Senior Vice President of Quality
Jim Spisak has over 25 years experience in the high tech industry, with focus on increasing customer satisfaction. Previously Jim lead the Customer Service and Technical Support team at Honeywell Process Controls, worked in various customer support and aftermarket strategy positions at IBM for 17 years and was also the Director of Global Product Services and Support at Emerson Network Power, Embedded Computing. Jim earned his bachelor’s degree from Yale University and his MBA from the University of Chicago.
Gary Schlumpf, Senior Vice President of Supply Chain
Gary Schlumpf serves as the Senior Vice President of Supply Chain at Ocular. Gary’s experience includes strategic sourcing, procurement, global negotiations, logistics and production planning. Prior to Ocular, Gary held supply chain roles at Motorola Semiconductor, Arrowsmith Technologies and Lonestar Technologies. Gary obtained a BBA in Management from Midwestern State University and an MBA in Operations Management from Texas State University-San Marcos. Gary also earned a lifetime certificate as a Certified Purchasing Manager and is an active member of the Institute for Supply Management.
Tina Peyton, Director of Human Resources
Tina Peyton joined the Ocular team as the Director of Human Resources in June of 2009. Past professional experiences include a 20 year career at Neiman Marcus in various positions such as Human Resources/Building Manager and Manager/Director for Credit Services. Tina was also the managing principal for Texas Consulting Group, a full service national business and public affairs consulting firm and has held management roles for other political action groups. Tina is a graduate of the University of Texas, has earned her Texas Real Estate license and also obtains a Certificate of Completion in Entrepreneurial Studies from SMU’s Caruth Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies.
